The SNF Guidance Training Program live, virtual coding workshop sessions will begin on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 12:30 PM ET and will include the training topics below.

Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and New Items in Section A
This coding workshop will focus on the new Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and new Section A non-SDOH data elements in the MDS 3.0 v1.18.11:
- A1005. Ethnicity.
- A1010. Race.
- A1250. Transportation.
- B1300. Health Literacy.
- D0700. Social Isolation.
- A2121–A2124: Provision and Route of Reconciled Medication List to Subsequent Provider and to Resident at Discharge.


Section K: Nutritional Approaches
This coding workshop will summarize the changes in the revised assessment data element, K0520. Nutritional Approaches and then apply coding instructions and principles to accurately code practice scenarios.
Section GG: Functional Abilities
This coding workshop will focus on two new data elements in Section GG:
- GG0130I. Personal Hygiene.
- GG0170FF. Tub/Shower Transfer.
The workshop will use practice scenarios for these two new data elements to promote accurate coding for Admission Performance, Discharge Performance, OBRA/Interim Performance and OBRA Assessment periods.


Section J: Pain Interview
This coding workshop will focus on the following Pain Assessment Interview data elements, which are new to the MDS RAI 3.0 v1.18.11:
- J0510. Pain Effect on Sleep.
- J0520. Pain Interference with Therapy Activities.
- J0530. Pain Interference with Day-to-Day Activities.
Section D: Resident Mood Interview and Total Severity Score
Following a brief overview, this coding workshop will focus on coding instructions and practice scenarios specific to changes made to Section D, specifically:
- D0150. Resident Mood Interview (PHQ-2 to 9©).
- D0160. Total Severity Score.


Section N: Medications
This coding workshop will focus on apply coding instructions and principles to accurately code practice scenarios for the revised assessment data element N0415. High-Risk Drug Classes: Use and Indication.
Section O: Special Treatments, Procedures, and Programs
This coding workshop will focus on apply coding instructions and principles to coding practice scenarios for the revised assessment data element O0110. Special Treatments, Procedures, and Programs.
